Sichuan
Nongyou Poultry Research Institute is situated
in Gongping Town of Wenjiang District in Chengdu
City. It is a collection of scientific research,
education, production, sales and service combined
into one that forms a large-scale, private, scientific
and technological enterprise. Since its founding
13 years ago, it has persisted to keep the market
as its guideline and modern science and technology
as the main supports and serving the masses as the
main principle. It has taken professional, standardized
and intensive production, processing and sales organs
and integrated them into the core of the operations.
The enterprise relies on the advantages of the suburb
of a large municipality to develop the bird egg
industry and satisfies the requirements that the
city dwellers and country folk have on meat, foal,
and eggs. The enterprise continues to develop with
a management model that merges professional
yards with the farmers and has done numerous positive
and effective probes in the area of industrializing the
agriculture industry. The enterprise has been successively
praised as "One of the Top-ten Enterprises Engaged
in the Poultry Industry in Sichuan Province", "Model
Science and Technology Enterprise of the Xinghuo Project
in Chengdu" and in 1997 was awarded the "Scientific
and Educational Award in Agriculture of the People's Republic
of China" by the Ministry of Agriculture followed
by being granted the title of an "Advanced Unit in
Industrialized Management of Agricultural in Sichuan Province"
that passed through the Sichuan Provincial Committee of
the Communist Party of China and the Sichuan Provincial
People's Government in 1998.

The research
institute currently occupies an area of over 100mu (1mu=0.0667
hectares) and has over 400 employees, 9 of which hold
senior titles of professional and technical posts and
over 30 more that hold master's degrees, have intermediate
titles as well as poly-tech and college graduates. There
are presently 7 enterprises that are individually operated
and two other enterprises that are jointly run. The total
combined fixed assets of these enterprises amounts to
over RMB 20,000,000 Yuan (approximately 2,420,000 USD).
The enterprises drive along the over 510 households that
are the key of the chicken raising and over 2300 households
that engage in special trades to prosper together through
a representative approach and by starting training courses
and educational programs, providing base supports and
evolving service and other methods. These household are
distributed throughout the province in Wenjiang, Chongzhou,
Dayi, Neijiang, Jiajiang, Leshan, Emei, Dujiangyan, Mianyang,
Shimian, Hanyuan and other cities and counties as well
as in areas outside of the province, including; Chongqing,
Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Guangxi, Xinjiang, Tibet
and other provinces, municipalities and regions. It has
been able to realize an effect where the importation of
one item or asset seems to multiply itself a hundred times
allowing for the trickle down effect that allows everyone
to prosper together.
